Witch Amigurumi Pattern Instructions

This pattern is written using US terminology and is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated. I recommend you always mark the start of each round, using a stitch marker. If made with the described materials, the doll will be about 18 cm/7 inches tall, from the toes to the tip of the hat.

Rnd 26: sc in all 24 st [24]

Legs

(Beige)

Identify 1 stitch for the space between the legs in the front, and 1 stitch in the back (so each leg has 11 stitches). I recommend using stitch markers for this. You might have to crochet or undo some sc so that the legs align with the head.

Join the last stitch before the space between legs in the back to the first stitch after the space in the front with a sc (this sc will be the first stitch of the first leg). Now continue crocheting in the round for the first leg:

Rnd 27-30: sc in all 11 st [11]

Stuff the body and the first leg.

Rnd 31: sc in next st, dec x 5 [6]

Fasten off and leave a long tail. With the embroidery needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each stitch and pull to close. Weave in the yarn tail.

For the second leg, rejoin the yarn to the first stitch after the space between legs in the back of round 26 (this will be the first stitch of the second leg).

Rnd 27: sc in all 11 st [11]

Sc in the first stitch after the space in the back to join in the round.

Rnd 28-31: same as the pattern for the first leg.

Arms

(Beige)

Rnd 1: start 4 sc in a magic ring [4]
Rnd 2: (sc in next st, inc in next st) x 2 [6]
Rnd 3-5: sc in all 6 st [6]

(Black)

Rnd 6: sc in all 6 st [6]

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. The arms don’t need to be stuffed. Sew the arms to the body, over rounds 20 and 21.

Hair

(Blue)

Rnd 1-8: same as pattern for the head.

Rnd 9: skip 1 st, dc 5 in next st, skip 1 st, slst in next st, skip 1 st, dc 2 in next st, tr 2 in next st, dc 2 in next st, skip 1 st, slst in next st, skip 1 st, dc 5 in next st, skip 1 st, slst in next st, sc in next 22 st [41]

Now start working in rows, over the 22 sc of round 9. The ch at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch: the first sc is always worked in the same stitch as the ch.

Row 1-8: ch 1, sc in all 22 st [22]

Row 9: ch 1, inc in same st, sc in next 20 st, inc in next st [24]

Fasten off, and weave in the ends. Sew the hair to the head, in the two points indicated in Image 3. Bend the ends to make the hair curl upwards. If necessary, with the embroidery needle and thread make two stitches at the ends, to keep them curved upwards.

Rnd 1: start 5 sc in a magic ring [5]
Rnd 2: inc in next st, sc in next 4 st [6]
