Ch 18 and hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and hdc 4 more in the same ch, then sl st in the next 2 sts. (4 hdc, sl st in next 2 sts) x4, 4 hdc in last st, (You should have 6 “bumps”)

Fasten off with an extra long tail and roll the piece till it takes the shape of a flower. Sew the bottom of the flower to make sure it stays in that flower shape. Leave a yarn tail for sewing the flower to the critter.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the head to the body. Add some stuffing as you do this to give the neck some structure.
  2. Place the hat on the head, I did not sew the hat to the head because it’s a snug fit and I think it looks better but you can sew it if you’d like.
  3. To make the antennas, pick up a stitch on a black row of the hat on one side of the head. Attach black yarn and ch 5. Fasten off and pull the end tight to create a knot and trim the yarn tail short but not too short. Repeat on the other side.
  4. Sew the arms to the body.
  5. Sew the belly piece to the front of the body.
  6. Sew the wings to the upper middle of the back.
  7. Sew the flower wherever you’d like, I choose to place it on the lower left side of the body, (see cover photo for reference).

You are done!!
